Witch Hollow and Nox Arcana

Today I received an email from one of my readers, where she was asking what kind of music I would recommend her to listen to while reading "Witch Hollow and the Wrong Spell."
I immediately remembered about an amazing band with the most beautiful yet petrifying music.
Nox Arcana.
This band is truly wonderful. Below are links to their songs and music which have been inspirational for me while I was writing "Witch Hollow and the Wrong Spell."
Enjoy the most mysterious music by Nox Arcana.

And don't forget to read "Witch Hollow and the Wrong Spell" meantime.

My new view!

Some time ago I decided that I needed a house in the highlands where I would sit in the mornings in front of the window, admire the scenery, and listen to this song:

And there, in the Highlands, I would find inspiration for my books.

And now I have a new apartment in the highlands and a view like this:

Surely, not the best photo I could take :)
Spring has arrived, and soon the view outside my window will become amazing, and I can hardly wait to start writing sitting in my balcony.

Just a dream coming true.

The Tenant of Wildfell Hall

I recently read Anne BrontΓ«'s both books--"Agnes Grey" and "The Tenant of Wildfell Hall".
Loved them both. Anne Bronte will always be my most favourite Bronte sister, though I have to say that my love for these amazing, talented sisters is almost equal. Still I call Anne my favourite, for I have a "thing" for underrated writers.
I loved "The Tenant of Wildfell Hall" but never I expected to read a story of a domestic abuse in a Bronte book. It was strong, it was sad, it was heartbreaking sometimes.

Throughout the reading I could not believe that such a young girl coud write this type of story: a story of a mother who struggles to save her child from the terrible influence of his own father. This was a story of a courageous woman who was ready to bear insults and mental abuse to stay close to her son, and who chose life in misery for her son's well-being.

I also love her writing style, which some consider too descriptive, but I disagree. I love the Bronte sisters' style and their use of words. I wish people still talked in such beautiful, rich language as they did back in the time.

The movie:

It started with a beautiful music which immediately dragged me into the story of despair and hope. It was a good movie with great acting, beatiful scenery, and wonderful music.
Sometimes movie was slow, but it was still enjoyable.

Rewritten and republished

I remembered that I should've made a post about "Witch Hollow and the Wrong Spell" which has been rewritten and republished a few months ago.
Yep, I have become a little slow recently.

Interestingly, after the rewrite, it has been selling more.
I suppose it was too long for the first book of the series; I cut out nearly 40.000 words, and you know what? It has become better.
This is a tip to all the new authors: if you can cut out 40K words and still keep the characters and the storyline, do it!

Little Women

Little Women by Louisa May Alcott.

This has to be the sweetest, the warmest, and one of the most heartbreaking books I have ever read. I am more than sure I will be re-reading this through my whole life.

There is something about this book that makes it dear to the reader's heart with no efforts. It's only a nice story about four sisters, not overly dramatic or overly funny, but there is so much warmth and love in it, that the story stays with you for a very long time.

I have heard many times that this story has lost its appeal in the modern world, that it teaches the girls to be silent housewives, and I could not disagree more. We have to remember what times those were: women did not have many options. They didn't have higher education or profession, but it didn'tstop them pursuing their dreams--so what if those dreams were not big or global.

I also loved how tenderly, dearly the girls loved their mother. This is a beautiful family book about love, friendship, tenderness, and family. I highly reccomend this. No reader will be disappointed.

And now the movie.

Below is the trailer full of spoilers!

I can't say anything negative about the movie. The tone was as sweet as the book's. The actors were wonderful. I wish it was longer; I don't think I'd get tired of following the lives of those little women.

Surely, the movie was not a copy of the book, and lots of scenes were not included, but the crucial ones were there, and the saddst ones, too.

A wonderful book and a beautiful movie.

Enjoy both!
